Eligible Applicants
• Farmers
• Horticulturists
• Foresters
• Individuals, collaborative and group applications
• No limit on the number of businesses involved in a grant application
Grant Support Available
• Minimum grant £25,000
• Maximum grant £150,000 -may be higher in certain cases
• 25% - 50% grant funding rate
• Different for livestock and training
Eligible Costs
• Capital costs - buildings, infrastructure, equipment, machinery
• Technical support to establish the enterprise – professional fees etc
• Initial business operating costs – i.e. the day to- day running costs
• Market research and feasibility studies
• Product development, branding and design costs
• Training – may be part of a larger project
Ineligible Costs
• Basic equipment or infrastructure
• Legislative compliance costs
• Leasing contracts, interest, refinancing, insurance
• Production rights (quotas)
• Stock or plants
• Costs incurred prior to the grant award
Grant Process
• Expression of Interest (EOI) form – Response within 15 working days
• Full application – Response usually within 30 working days
• Award letter and contract
• Strings attached
Terms & Conditions
• 5-year agreement
• The project must remain as originally agreed – consequences if not
• Can be sold / transferred but new owners to need comply with the agreement
• Must publicise as RDPE funded
• Full auditing system
